After a big accident this year, my legs were compromised and so my ability to walk and move again. I had to learn again to do so, from zero. The new perceptions I was dealing with daily changed completely my experience and my understanding towards my body and my mind. It was an amazing experience. I decided to record with body scaled drawings this "other" sensations and to understand the relationship I was building up with them every day. Who am I? This is me, rolling myself, swimming, walking and running over a paper.

Eight weeks ago we challenged you to draw or paint how you feel in a self-portrait for the art competition #Lassnigbyme. We received almost 300 entries. Thank you all for your creative and open-hearted responses! Today we can finally announce the winner.
Congratulations @Silviagatti_art!
Silvia’s work is called ‘ON PLACEBO EFFECT’. As Silvia explains, she had a strong motivation and reason to participate in this competition: “After a big accident this year, my legs were compromised and so my ability to walk and move. I had to learn again to do so. From zero. The new perceptions I was dealing with daily changes completely my experience and my understanding towards my body and my mind. It was an amazing experience. I decide to record with body scaled drawing this “other“ sensations and to understand the relationship I was building up with them every day. Who Was I? This is me, rolling myself, swimming, walking and running over a paper.”
According to our judge, Beatrice von Bormann, “Silvia Gatti interpreted the concept of body awareness - the central theme of this contest- in its own unique way. After an accident, she had to rediscovered the relation of her mind and body with her art. In her life-sized drawing ‘ON PLACEBO EFFECT’ she used this new body awareness to create an original and interesting artwork”.
